That was such a hard week, the house got hit with all sorts of illnesses.
Both children affected by acute tonsillitis/ strep A. Seeing your children with fevers of over 40 degrees for over 5 days can actually break your limits. There were many tears, worries, stress and anxieties. We were struggling as family and as parents.
Hospital visits, numerous doctor visits, calls and shortages of antibiotics hit us hard.
Me and the husband got sick to with acute bronchitis/ suspected pneumonia and husband with stomach flu.
When you are a parent you think to yourself:
I can't get ill
I have to be there for the kids
I have to be strong
When you see your kids as poorly as ours were it truly breaks your heart ❤️ you feel powerless, useless and like a failure you just want them to get better so badly.
When you see all the news about the kids taken too early with strep A or on ventilators you just pray hard. My heart is breaking for all the kids that lost the fight. My heart is breaking for my children and how destroying this strep A is. It sucks everything from them leaving them exhausted.
We were extremely lucky till now as the antibiotics seems to be doing the job. We hope that they are on the meant. But we are still on the watch.
Exhaustion is real. Feeling drained is real. Our fight continues.
Take time to hug your child, your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you and how much you care.
